Plans

Changing a price

A new plan, never an edit, and why existing customers keep the old one.

There is no edit button, and there is no way to add one. A plan is its terms. The amount is part of what your customer agreed to and part of how the plan is identified, so changing the price produces a different plan with a different checkout link.

What happens to people already subscribed

Nothing. They stay on the price they signed up at, and nobody can move them : not you, not us. Their amount was fixed into their subscription at signup.

That is the promise doing the work at checkout: a customer agreeing to $20 a month is agreeing that $20 is the most that can ever be taken from them under that agreement. It only means anything because it applies to you too.

How to raise a price

  1. 1

Create a new plan at the new price

Free, same as the first one.

  2. 2

Share the new link from now on

Everybody who subscribes from here pays the new price.

  3. 3

Decide what to do about the old one

You can leave it running, or retire it so nobody new can join it. Retiring does not affect the people already on it.

If you want existing customers on the new price, they have to subscribe to the new plan themselves. There is no way to do it on their behalf, which is the point.
